The Empowerment Era Begins
I’ve decided I want to take this blog in a new direction. To be honest, it’s kind of been moving this way for a long time, so I want to make this change more definite. The Printed Parade since day one has been a blog about all things feminism, body positivity and a place for me to discuss my life. This will always be it’s roots, but I think it’s time for an update! So I say welcome to The Empowerment Era!
With everything in my life, I’m growing and changing so it’s only right that my blog grows and changes with me. I’m not the same person as I was when I started this little space on the internet. I’m older, but that’s a given, but with that comes growth and the ability to learn. I’ve discovered things about myself I never knew were there. I’ve met new people and experienced new things that have and will shape me forever. I’m no longer that black and white girl that started university a year ago. I’m a lot more grey, a lot more open and, I still have a long way to go.
Since June I’ve had a major shift in my life. The things I’d done prior to this are some what a polar opposite to how things are now. But I’m happy with that change.
For a long time I always spoke my mind. I was that blunt person you could count on for an honest opinion, and to a large extent I still am that person. So what I want to do with my blog and my social media is to use this to empower other people.
I have the privilege to be surrounded by such incredible people. My friends, my family, my business partners, my boyfriend. Every single one of them makes me a better person. They make me want to improve myself, and I love that.
Some of you may have seen on my social media recently my new found love of personal development books. I’ve been reading so many and I can’t believe I never did before! I want my little space on the internet to be some what an equivalent to these. Now, of course I’m not stupid. I know that my internet musings will come no where near as close to the fine teachings and knowledge of incredible people like Tony Robbins and Hal Elford. But what my little blog posts will aim to do is give people what I’ve learnt, little snapshots of how they can use these teachings. Perhaps even be the gateway to people understanding personal development and what it can do for them.
As a little disclaimer I should say I’m not saying I will change your life. I’m not saying I will make you the best person you can be. But what I am saying is I want to share with you my journey of how I am becoming the best version of myself. And hey, if what works for me works for you then amazing, if not, thanks for reading anyway!
So what can you expect from this new direction?
Basically a lot of things you can apply to your life! Personal development book reviews and recommendations, how I’ve implemented different techniques into my life and any struggles I’ve faced with it. They’ll also be my yoga progress (really pushing myself to get back into it), and on top of that I’ll be talking about my business; how it’s growing, what I’m learning, how I’m empowering others through it.
