I am the first person to admit I hate getting up in the morning. My desire to just stay in my warm cosy bed is so hard to over come. A repeat “snooze” button offender, I felt a need for a change. With my new semester at university just starting, what a better time to embrace the morning!
So today is my first day of being a fully-fledged vegan. I’m jumping in the deep end and going cold turkey (or does that phrase not work for vegans?) that means I’m not easing myself in, or having cheat days: I am now a vegan. Well, at least for the next 28 days. I have to say I’m super excited about this month, I’ve had to do a lot of preparation and research to ensure I’m ready!
If you haven’t heard of hygge where have you been? (I should perhaps point out that hygge is not pronounced like jiggie but with a h instead of a j, but more like hue-gah). This way of living has Danish origins but is completely applicable to every walk of life.
I’d read about it on loads of blogs and wanted to give my life some hygge so I was absolutely delighted when my little book of hygge ended up under the Christmas tree for me last year!
Although LaLiviLou is still new in terms of the actual name, the content I’ve been writing as been around for a year now, so those of you that have followed me from the start (shoutout to you lot!) body positive posts are hardly new to you.
It’s so easy to say you’re going to do something, whether it be learn a new language, write a book or take part in a sporting event, however things can often be easier said than done. I’m probably the worlds worst for being all or nothing, so I’ve just got work on that little bit extra of sticking something out. I’ve done some practicing and experimenting and I think I’ve come up with a pretty decent list of ways to stick to goals! I also figured considering today marks one year since I started blogging (eek!) it feels like I should pay tribute to this being one of the first major goals I’ve ever stuck with!
Wow, 2016 has been a learning curve of a year for me. It’s been such a packed year with so so much going on! From the friends I’ve made, places I’ve been, things I’ve seen and done, I honestly wouldn’t want to change a single part of it!
We all like to be happy, Captain Obvious over here, and I’ve been doing my very best to be my happiest recently. It’s not because I’m unhappy, but simply because I want to maximise my life and enjoy it that little bit more. After reading a gazillion (or what it felt like) blog posts today on this cold rainy Saturday all cuddled up in bed with blankets and hot chocolate, I thought I would write my list of habits for happy people!
