3 Books Every 20 Year Old Should Read

Okay so I know I’m not actually 20 years old yet, but I will be in June, and I have really been reading some fab books recently as a way to escape from the heavy weight of my looming exams. Reading is something that has always been a bit of an escape for me and have if I find a good book you won’t see me until it’s finished! I definitely don’t get enough time to read BUT I’m really trying to increase the frequency in my life. When it comes to the types of books I read, I love a good crime thriller but also enjoy personal development books. I’ve never been one for romance novels, but that’s just me! So, I thought I would compile a list of 3 must reads for people my age, and, if you haven’t read them (regardless of your age) give them a try!

Get Hygge With It

If you haven’t heard of hygge where have you been? (I should perhaps point out that hygge is not pronounced like jiggie but with a instead of a j, but more like hue-gah). This way of living has Danish origins but is completely applicable to every walk of life.

I’d read about it on loads of blogs and wanted to give my life some hygge so I was absolutely delighted when my little book of hygge ended up under the Christmas tree for me last year!

My Life On The Road By Gloria Steinem

As it was World Book Day yesterday, I thought I would share with you a little book review on an awesome book I’ve been reading this last month. I read Gloria Steinem’s book as part of Emma Watson’s feminist book club ‘Our Shared Shelf‘ and I have to be honest, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. For one, I have never enjoyed autobiographies before and two, I’m a crime/thriller book lovers so wasn’t sure this politics based book would be something I’d enjoy – for fear it would too closely remind me of all of my readings and textbooks for my degree!
