It’s that time of year where you really notice that it is definitely not summer anymore. Long gone are the days where you could leave the house without a coat, and now are the days where you need hat, gloves and scarf to put the bins out. It is cold and I do not like it. I’ve always been the type of person who’s mood is affected by the weather, so for me, these chilly days don’t half make it tough to go to the gym at 8am on a Monday morning…
Last weekend I was fortunate enough to go to Oxford to visit Josh as he has just started studying at Oxford Brookes University. I couldn’t have been more excited to see him and to visit Oxford for the first time. We also decided to try out Oxford Brookes University’s first ever TEDx event (a TEDx event is an independently organised TED event) so I thought I would share it with you.
So you know I’m a sucker for an app. Anything to make my life easier, I’ve probably got it on my phone. However, I have no games on my phone, just social media and apps to help me plan and be productive! I always find if I have a game I either spend my whole life obsessing over it or I never use it and it’s using up valuable space. This app is something I only came across about a week ago, but the effect it has had on me is quite something! I’ve already got some of my housemates using it, and we all find it rather helpful so I thought I would share it with you.
Whoops! I disappeared for a little bit there! Uni hit me like a ton of bricks (as per) and I totally was not ready for it! I mean on the plus side I’m totally “on it” with my uni work and absolutely ready to smash this year! But it does mean this wonderful spot on the internet got a little neglected! So sorry! I’ll try to make sure it doesn’t happen again!
This past year has been incredible for me. Do you want to know one of the main reasons why? I have educated myself. I have educated myself on our planet, on my life and what it can mean in this world, and I have educated myself on what I want from my future and my life. There have been numerous resources I have used to help me on this journey and I wanted to share them with you. And I guess, these resources have changed my life. That sounds super cliché I know, but it’s true. They have allowed me to decide what I want for my future, and I’m using them to help me shape it.
Recently, when at the airport on my way to Sicily, I stumbled into a book shop to discover they had a “half price” sale going on. This to me is very exciting news, so I quickly went to the “personal development” section to get my hands on some life changing books. And that I did. I found Talk Like TED: The 9 Public-Speaking Secrets of the World’s Top Minds, paid and headed to my flight.
For those of you that read my post on Minimalism, here’s a little update for you! (If you haven’t read it, it might make sense to first!) I’ve been taking steps to de-clutter my life, I’m proud of the progress I’ve made so be proud of me too!
